Management |
| Responsibilities |
1) Carry out AutoCAD drafting and design operations 2) Maintain Design (‘B’ file) file
3) Set-up heating and cooling load calculation file (e.g. Carrier HAP) with
inputs to be checked by senior staff 4) Handle HVAC, fire protection as well as plumbing layout and drafting 5) Ensure that company design checklist is adhered to 6) Maintain AutoCAD files 7) Ensure that company AutoCAD standards are being followed 8) Prepare preliminary motor list (with assistance provided by the senior staff) 9) Coordinate mechanical requirements with other disciplines involved in the Project Design Team (i.e. architects, structural consultants, electrical consultants, etc.) 10) Prepare equipment selections using company selection procedures (with assistance provided by the senior staff) 11) Review and process shop drawings with senior staff 12) Coordinate service requirements/connections with the respective utility and/or municipal agencies 13) Assist in training of junior staff and reviewing of their work 14) Provide construction administration services (as directed by senior staff) 15) Write various reports as directed by senior staff 16) Attend site surveys with senior staff |
| Requirements |
1) BS in Mechanical Engineering 2) P. Eng.
license (EIT designation preferred) 3) 2 years of designing experience in
HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection 4) 5 years of experience in AutoCAD 5) Ability to apply prescriptive requirements of plumbing building and sprinkler codes (i.e. NFPA, BCBC, BC Plumbing Code, etc.) 6) Expertise in energy modeling calculations 7) Excellent communication skills |
