The client specializes in areas of plumbing, HVAC, natural gas as well as other fuel and process piping across the GTA and surrounding areas of Ontario. Position Location Senior Estimator Ontario Salary Reports to Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Management Responsibilities 1) Read architectural and mechanical drawings 2) Plan, direct, and coordinate (usually through subordinate supervisory personnel) activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems 3) Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation 4) Review bid documents to identify special requirements 5) Assist the department in mitigation of risks 6) Participate in pre-bid meetings 7) Establish bid strategies 8) Prepare take-offs, schedules, and price estimates 9) Make preliminary schedules and general requirements for reviews 10) Prepare cost proposals and budgets Requirements 1) Degree (4 year) or Diploma (2 year) with applicable technical training or valid trade certification a plus 2) 7+ years of experience in a similar role with mechanical contractors and/or construction 3) Proficient in computers (estimating software like Accubid preferred) 4) Knowledge of tendering and bidding procedures 5) Ability to manage many estimates simultaneously 6) Ability to be flexible at work
