Position Location Architect Project Manager Sioux Falls, SD Salary Reports to Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Management Responsibilities 1) Organize, plan and schedule all project activities from marketing through to post-construction follow-up 2) Manage the intended outcome to balance client contract, budget, time and cost limitations 3) Act as a consultant to the client (or client's representative) 4) Manage consultants 5) Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers involved in the process 6) Provide the direction needed to bring the project to successful completion 7) Meet the quality standards of the company and the client 8) Make decisions that demonstrate full knowledge of the project’s status, binding together the project’s diverse elements, to bring about its successful completion 9) Use good architectural design judgment 10) Follow building codes and abide by the laws of the US and the individual states in which the company does business 11) Improve control procedures and develop new strategies for the attainment of improved productivity Requirements 1) BS/BA in Architecture or Engineering 2) Associate degree (2 year) or certified training from a college or technical school 3) Registered Architect preferred 4) Construction field experience and training a plus 5) Background in managing and administering projects 6) Minimum 2 years of experience in drafting and designing with CADD 7) Project management and proposal development experience 8) Understanding of cost controls, proposals and collection abilities 9) Expertise in MS Office and SketchUp, AutoCAD and Rev-It software 10) Willingness to pursue additional training to sharpen any skill deficiencies and/or obtain or maintain license designations 11) Good memory and technical designing skills 12) Excellent interpersonal skills 13) In-depth understanding of the drafting and designing functions performed by direct reports 14) Knowledge of practical application of architectural designs and technology 15) Knowledge of tools and principles involved in production of precision technical drawings and models 16) Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction or repairing of buildings and other structures 17) Ability to plan, track and execute 18) Ability to develop cooperative working relationships between consultants, contractors and subcontractors using excellent interpersonal skills 19) Excellent negotiating and communications skills 20) Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to work with clients, consultants, contractors and company employees 21) Ability to write routine reports and correspondence 22) Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical procedures and procedure manuals 23) Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume 24) Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry 25) Ability to apply architectural principles, techniques, procedures and designs 26) Ability to work independently 27) Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment 28) Ability to visualize the completed results from concept or client instructions 29) Ability to prioritize, evaluate work-in-progress and schedule the elimination of conflicts 30) Result-oriented with ability to measure, initiate, implement and coordinate work by internal and external parties that result in meeting project schedules 31) Valid driver’s license with proof of insurability 32) Outgoing personality with ability to guide the efforts of all those associated with a given project
