About our client
Our client offers design evaluations and solutions for structural engineering situations by using state-of-the-art design software and full optimization methods. Their services range from structural assessments of existing buildings to a complete final designing package of commercial, industrial, residential, and agricultural applications.
Position Location
Senior Mechanical Engineer Stratford, ON (Non-GTA)
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Management
Responsibilities
1) Handle mechanical and electrical designing projects in the Mechanical and Electrical Division
2) Ensure designs’ conformance to the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Electrical Code, current ASHRAE standards, and NFPA guidelines
3) Direct and guide junior Engineering staff in the department
4) Seal mechanical and electrical drawings for building permit applications
5) Use engineering principals to design building systems, select equipment components, and develop scope of systems to upgrade existing buildings as well as design new buildings
6) Perform field reviews of installations
7) Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and progress payments
8) Perform building system audits and reviews
9) Handle marketing to obtain new clients
10) Prepare proposals for new engineering services for clients to ensure new work is available
11) Submit on time the timesheets and journals as well as update them daily and consistently
12) Perform the assigned job as well as all other tasks (as required)
Requirements
1) BS in Mechanical Engineering
2) P. Eng. license
3) 5 – 10 years of experience
4) Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Ontario Electrical Code, current ASHRAE standards, and NFPA guidelines
5) Excellent organizational and time-management skills
6) Ability to work independently and under pressure as well as to meet deadlines
7) Self-motivated, hardworking, and flexible
8) Responsible individual with ability to be a team player
