About our client
Since 1958, our client has been dealing with mechanical, electrical, plumbing and telecommunications consulting and engineering designs. They offer services in the areas of programming, pre-construction and construction support, MEP design and facility consulting.

Responsibilities
ENGINEER II
1) Perform standard engineering work requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
2) Exercise judgment when less common methods or procedures are necessary
3) Handle assignments that may include higher-level work for training/developmental purposes
4) Work under close supervision on new aspects of assignments
5) Use prescribed methods to perform specific and limited segments of an experienced Engineer’s broader assignment

ENGINEER III
1) Evaluate (independently), select and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures while using judgment when making minor adaptations and modifications
2) Work on assignments that have clear and specific objects and require investigation of limited number of variables
3) Receive instructions on specific assignment objects, complex features and possible solutions
4) Perform work involving conventional plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features for which there are few precedents
5) Receive assistance for unusual problems
6) Work with engineers or technicians and be accountable for single phase of a project

ENGINEER IV
1) Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria
2) Devise new solutions to problems encountered
3) Perform (independently) most assignments with instruction only regarding general expected results 4) Receive technical guidance for unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval of proposed project plans
5) Supervise a few engineers and/or technicians on project basis (as required)

ENGINEER V
1) Apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to broad variety of assignments and related fields
2) Make decisions independently regarding engineering complexities and methods
3) Use advanced techniques, modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices
4) Consult with Supervisor concerning unusual problems and developments
5) Supervise, coordinate and review work of small staff of engineers and/or technicians
6) Work as individual Researcher or Staff Specialist
7) Perform complex or novel assignments requiring development of new and/or improved techniques and procedures

ENGINEER VI
1) Interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments
2) Plan and develop engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial complexities, which have important impact on major company programs
3) Handle exploration of subject area, definition of scope, selection of areas of investigation and development of novel concepts
4) Act as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with duty to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to field
5) Plan, organize and supervise work of staff of engineers and technicians (approximately 15 –
30)
6) Work as an individual Researcher, Consultant or Staff Specialist
7) Conceive plans and conduct research in areas of considerable scope and complexity

ENGINEER VII
1) Make authoritative decisions and recommendations that have an important impact on extensive engineering activities of the company
2) Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with key engineers and officials of other organizations and companies, requiring skill in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues
3) Demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented engineering complexities
4) Determine program objectives and requirements
5) Organize programs and projects
6) Develop standards and guidelines for diverse engineering activities
7) P. Eng. license
8) Plan, organize and supervise the work of a large staff of engineers and technicians (over 30)
9) Work as individual Researcher or Consultant
10) Serve as a recognized leader and authority in the company (in broad area of specialization or intensely specialized field)

ENGINEER VIII
1) Make authoritative decisions and recommendations having significant impact on extensive engineering and related activities of company
2) Negotiate critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies
3) Demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight and mature judgment in planning, organizing and guiding extensive engineering programs and activities of outstanding novelty and/or importance
4) Receive general administrative direction
5) Handle one or more programs of such diversity and scope to be of critical importance to overall company objectives
6) Supervise several individuals who are within Engineer VII classification
Requirements
1) BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
2) P. Eng. license
3) Experience in producing or directing the production of contract documents (floor plans, equipment schedules and specifications)
4) Experience in surveying, designing and sizing HVAC and/or plumbing systems for buildings
5) Expertise in CAD software
6) Experience in healthcare, laboratory, university and mission-critical designing
7) Familiarity with Californian regulatory agencies (including OSHPD) priorities
8) Ability to work on complex projects with general direction
9) Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within and manage a constantly changing environment
10) Stable and meaningful work history

ENGINEER II
1) Minimum 1 year as Engineer I or related experience

ENGINEER III
1) Minimum 1 year as Engineer II or related experience

ENGINEER IV
1) 2 years of experience as Engineer III or related experience

ENGINEER V
1) P. Eng. license preferred

ENGINEER VI
1) P. Eng. license

ENGINEER VII
1) P. Eng. license
