About our client

Position Location
MEP Coordinator Milford, MA
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Director of Project Services (DPS)
Responsibilities
1) Meet with facility managers and user groups to understand their specific needs
2) Attend programming meetings
3) Identify MEP constraints and requirements
4) Review schematic and design development drawings for feasibility and program with end users
5) Participate in subcontractor solicitation and pricing exercises
6) Review subcontractor estimates and perform scope reviews
7) Assist Estimating Department in budgeting MEP systems
8) Advise in value management process
9) Review documents for constructability
10) Verify field conditions in existing buildings to ensure constructability
11) Identify long lead time items and advise on purchase requirements
12) Review code analysis focusing on ADA, MEP and Energy Code compliances and checklists
13) Perform LEED analysis as it relates to the MEP systems
14) Draft LEED IAQ Management Plans
15) Participate in meetings with local officials during permitting phase
16) Advise on energy rebate opportunities
17) Assist Purchasing Department in reviewing subcontracts and purchase agreements
18) Provide input on project schedules
19) Review subcontractor schedules of value
20) Hold MEP subcontractor kickoff meetings
21) Review and inspect MEP installations to ensure coordination and quality of work
22) Hold weekly MEP coordination meetings onsite with subcontractors
23) Review with subcontractors at weekly subcontractor meetings
24) Identify MEP deficiencies and report to Project Team for inclusion in Deficiency Log
25) Review monthly payment requisitions and advise on costs-to-complete
26) Manage the MEP coordination drawing process
27) Review and comment on subcontractor change requests
28) Attend monthly cost meetings as requested by Project Team
29) Review and comment on subcontractor submittals and shop drawings
30) Assist team and commissioning agent during commissioning phase as required
31) Attend weekly project meetings with owner as requested
32) Assist team in developing closeout schedule as it relates to MEP work; include permitting and inspection requirements and commissioning
33) Evaluate MEP as-built drawings and O&M Manuals
34) Assist and advise on developing and improving company's MEP coordination and services processes and procedures
35) Work with BIM technician to incorporate use of 3D Modeling
36) Provide periodic training to company staff on MEP fundamentals as part of company university
37) Participate in job interviews
38) Get involved in industry organizations
39) Participate in safety program
40) Attend PM meetings
41) Participate in company university classes and outside, continuing education to remain current on industry trends and technical advancements
Requirements
1) Degree (4 year)
2) 5 – 7 years of industry experience
3) Detail understanding of HVAC, Electrical, Fire Protection and Plumbing systems
4) Ability to comprehend CPM schedules and capable of negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers
5) Good knowledge and understanding of project scheduling, construction methods, materials and sequences
6) Excellent apprehension of the change order management process, subcontractor payment and owner requisition processes
7) Superb communication skills (written and oral)
8) Ability to take initiatives and strong problem-solving skills
9) Proficiency in MS Office
