Position Location Process/Chemical Engineer Michigan Salary Reports to Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Plant Manager Responsibilities 1) Design equipment and develop processes for manufacturing chemicals and related products 2) Conduct research to develop new and improved chemical manufacturing processes 3) Design and plan layouts 4) Oversee workers engaged in constructing, controlling and improving equipment to carry out chemical processes on a commercial scale 5) Analyze operating procedures, equipment and machinery functions to reduce processing time and cost 6) Design equipment to control movement, storage and packaging of solids, liquids as well as gases 7) Determine most effective arrangement of unit operations such as mixing, grinding, crushing, heat transfer, size reduction, hydrogenation, distillation, etc. 8) Supervise workers operating condensers, absorption and evaporation towers, kilns, pumps, stills, valves, tanks, boilers, compressors, etc. 9) Perform tests and take measurements throughout the stages of production to determine degree of control over variables such as temperature, density, and pressure Requirements 1) Degree in Chemical Engineering 2) 3 – 4 years of experience in a related field 3) Experience in large compressors (10,000 horsepower or larger) 4) Natural gas experience preferred 5) Excellent leadership and communication skills
